In the early 1980s, a chemical engineer from Calgary sought a transformative lifestyle. He sold all his possessions and moved to Golden, where he purchased part of this forest. Building from the ground up, he dedicated himself to mastering the art of home building and took ten years to develop the road leading to his house tucked away in this forest.
With no access to water or electricity, it took him six years to complete the first building - Elk Chalet. The Main Lodge with 10 ensuite bedrooms was finished in 1996, followed by the Eagle Chalet two years later. Trees fell from the surrounding forest were preserved on this land by using them as timber to build these buildings.
However, as years passed, running the place became more demanding. The owner hoped for someone who would cherish this place would come forward to help preserve the land.
Before the onset of COVID-19, a meditation and healing guru from the East visited and sensed the unique energy of this place. He believed this energy had the potential to evolve meditation practitioners in their practice and to heal those who stayed at this place, so he expressed his willingness to take over the property, envisioning its transformation into a sanctuary for travelers.

The only thing you’ll need is a car. If you’re not familiar with winter driving, it’s best to have a four-wheel-drive vehicle in addition to winter tires. As for everything else, leave it to us—we’ll always prioritize your needs and make sure you have a wonderful stay.
The Main Lodge features 10 cozy rooms, each with large windows that invite sunlight and starlight to accompany your stay. Every room comes with a private bathroom equipped with a bathtub. A spacious and comfortable lounge serves as a shared space where you might meet fellow travelers on their adventures.
For breakfast, we offer fruits, bread, jams, coffee, and tea. From our dining area and terrace, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the iconic Mount 7.
Every spring, as the snow melts, remnants of snow on the peaks form a distinct “7.” This natural phenomenon attracts outdoor enthusiasts who ski within the “7” or explore its slopes. Mount 7 is also a favorite destination for paragliding and mountain biking lovers.
Enjoy your retreat in spacious rooms equipped with private bathrooms. Each room is prepared with towels, face cloths, hand towels and an extra blanket, ensuring you can fully relax without a worry. A fan is also provided, so no matter the season, you’ll rest at a comfortable temperature.

The lower level has two additional bedrooms and another bathroom with a bathtub. On this level also accommodates the living area that features a woodstove, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen designed for your convenience.
